Pre Diabetes is a Common Undiagnosed Condition

Pre-diabetes or Syndrome X is a blood sugar level that is heading towards being full blown diabetes type 2. Pre-diabetes shows that the body is becoming increasing resistant to insulin. If you are overweight you're more than likely to have pre-diabetes. This condition also develops in normal weight people, generally those with a large fat to muscle ratio. Belly fat is also a warning sign.

Given that most people with pre-diabetes will go on to develop full blown diabetes, what then? Diabetes can't kill you can it? Well, perhaps not, but the diseases that come with diabetes certainly can. Diseases like heart disease, stroke, hypertension, kidney, disease, eye, problems, dementia and even cancer. It's a known fact that death from stroke and heart disease are at least three times higher in diabetics.

Physical diseases aren't the end of the story either. Diabetics who are insulin are far more likely to develop depressions and other mood disorders.

So how can we improve this situation. It's easy to say, "Follow a diabetes diet and exercise as much as possible". Yes of course this would help, but if you've been a couch potato all your life and don't have a clue about nutrition, where do you start?

There is another problem. Eating for some people is an emotional thing. People derive comfort from food that they may not be able to find anywhere else. So you'll need advice on how to smash the emotional barriers and start eating healthy foods. Even if your not emotionally addicted to food, it's not an easy thing to change your diet, not if you've been eating a certain way for a long time.

So where on earth do we start? The best way is to find good information about diabetes that is all together in one place. That way you'll be led step by step through the minefields of diet and exercise, which supplements to take and what not to do.

You can find information on medical sites which will be accurate. The trouble is it will be skewed towards the drug solution. For natural information on pre-diabetes and diabetes type 2, you're better off looking for some good books or websites that have stood the test of time. One I can recommend that you read can be found at http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FA18PSS

Pre-diabetes is best nipped in the bud without delay. If you think you may be a candidate for this syndrome, or even diabetes itself, start yourself now on the road to better health by increasing your knowledge. Then take action!
